Episode 34 – Our BOL, Naturopathy, Airline Travel, and Keeping Tabs on Government

Bit of a mixed bag of topics in this podcast. I had a work trip, so I was on the road again and finally had some time to talk about a few things that have been important in my modern survivalist life: our new BOL in Nova Scotia, Naturopathy treatment, Airline Travel and Security and Keeping Tabs on Government by taking a look at the bills passing through the House of Commons and the Senate.
There’s a break in the middle of the recording. I got a phone call, so I had to pull over. The train of thought only gets slightly derailed, but then I get back on topic. Hope to have more for you in the New Year!

About the nekid scanners… I’m thinking terrorists are more self-conscious about their unclothed body. So the scanners are more offensive to them then they are to Canadians/Americans. So a passengers reaction to those scanners could be used to gauge their background.

I’m thinking terrorists aren’t going to go through standard airport security anyway. Keep in mind that ‘terrorists’ aren’t always Muslim. A terrorist is anyone who uses terror to get their way. If someone uses your fears against you to get you to do what they want, they are a terrorist in the strictest sense.
The Republic of Ireland has terrorists – remember that! Why isn’t the U.S.A. going in there and shutting things down?
The U.S.A. has it’s terrorists – if you don’t do what TSA says you don’t get to fly home.
The War on Terrorism is the biggest oxymoron I’ve heard since Military Intelligence.

Used to be being a prepper was just how everyone lived their lives, wasn’t it? Good to see common sense persists in some parts of Canada.

Morning, found your blog via TheSurvivalPodcast.com.
Great to see a fellow Canuck prepping, we have a location in Cape Breton, wonderful people and province.
It’s been almost a year since we bought our property “down east” and we are now fully self sustainable, power, water, food and heat all supplied by the surrounding area.
Every time I travel back thru Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver, I cringe at the mass population and can’t wait to get back to the Cape.
So welcome to Nova Scotia, you’re going to love it

Thanks for the welcome. We’re not too far from Cape Breton. Only about a 30 minute drive to Port Hawkesbury from our place. I can totally relate to what you say about the urban sprawl. We’ll have to get together when we get down there.

I’m in south eastern NB..got my steal of a deal on 14 acres there..640 ft above sea level..running creek..timber..have amining camp to haul to it..placer gold..silver.. stake claims.. build some sort of earth shelter home..have the rockies too.. so regardless when the shtf..I’m good to go..solar the works..no worries..nuclear still good..so many are not gonna make it..I know this..:) more gnashing teeth..:0)

Paul is the commenter from Nova Scotia. I’m Guy, the guy that does this site and most of the podcasts.
The thing about preparedness is that I see it like swimming. If you know how to swim, it doesn’t matter how deep is the water.
If a person has a preparedness mindset and is making preparations daily, it doesn’t matter much what disaster comes.
Nevertheless, there are some things for which there is no amount of preparations that one can make. If the NWO decides to round us up, and the troops actually go along with it, then all we can do is hope we’re far enough away from their catch net and have the means to food, shelter and cloth ourselves.

Ok what did I do while I was away lol, just now reading the thread..
. Just got back from doing some training with the old unit in Wales, great fun, and hard work, good shake down of equipment.
Heading to Cape tomorrow, then back to Wales, the week after.
Going to get our spring gear sorted and keep making preps, from what I understand we have about a meter of snow to plough out from the approach road..
Will do update on microhydro system while in the cape, new upgrades going in etc ..

Guy, you’re a true Nova Scotian, you just don’t know it yet. I’m dying to know where you’re property is, but I’m sure you don’t want to say. It’s good to hear your voice. Oh, about airport security, I think you convinced me even more to take the train!

Well it’s been really quiet on CanadaPrepared as there’s been some movement afoot. Joan, the girl, and the dog are on the move to Nova Scotia as of this afternoon. Yep. That quick. The 5-10 year plan has been stepped up by about 4 and 3/4 years.
I’m still in Alberta taking care of business.

Good luck and welcome out east. I relocated from Ottawa (Originally from Cornwall Ont). To PEI in 1997
I am somewhat off grid with 1.5kw of solar and six Surrette (Made in Nova Scotia) S530 batteries. Heat with wood and live in a 1100 sq. foot log cabin on the North Shore.
Also have 15 4′ square foot gardens
